This Privacy Policy describes how ChefCaveau ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and protects your personal data when you use our tools and waitlist form available at tools.chefcaveau.com.
We are committed to handling your data in accordance with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and applicable Italian data protection law.
Who is responsible for your data
ChefCaveau
Email: [email protected]
For any data-related request, contact us at the address above. We will respond within 30 days.
1. What data we collect
When you submit the waitlist form on our tools, we collect:
- Email address — the only personal data we request.
Our food cost calculator tool operates entirely in your browser. No ingredient data, recipe data, or calculation results are transmitted to our servers or stored anywhere outside your device.
2. Why we collect it and legal basis
We collect your email address solely to notify you when ChefCaveau's professional kitchen management dashboard becomes available.
Legal basis: your freely given, specific, informed, and unambiguous consent (GDPR Art. 6(1)(a)). You provide consent by checking the consent checkbox before submitting the form. You may withdraw your consent at any time (see Section 5).
We do not use your email address for advertising, profiling, or any purpose other than the one stated above.
3. How long we keep your data
We will retain your email address until one of the following occurs:
- You withdraw your consent and request deletion;
- The product launch notification has been sent and a reasonable follow-up period (maximum 12 months) has elapsed;
- We decide to discontinue the waitlist.
We will not retain your data for longer than necessary for the stated purpose.
4. Who has access to your data (sub-processors)
Your email submission is processed by Formspree, Inc. (formspree.io), a form-backend service. Formspree acts as a data processor on our behalf and stores submissions on servers within the United States. Data transfers outside the EEA are governed by Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) as approved by the European Commission.
We do not sell, rent, or share your email address with any other third party.
5. Your rights under GDPR
As a data subject, you have the following rights:
- Access — you can request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Rectification — you can request correction of inaccurate data.
- Erasure ("right to be forgotten") — you can request deletion of your data at any time.
- Portability — you can request your data in a machine-readable format.
- Objection — you can object to processing at any time.
- Withdrawal of consent — you can withdraw your consent at any time without affecting the lawfulness of processing prior to withdrawal.
To exercise any of these rights, send an email to [email protected] with the subject line "Data Request". We will respond within 30 days.
6. Right to complain
If you believe we have not handled your personal data correctly, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the data protection supervisory authority of your country of residence. We would appreciate the opportunity to address your concerns first — please contact us at [email protected].
7. Cookies and tracking
Our tools do not use analytics cookies, tracking pixels, or third-party advertising scripts. No data is collected about your browsing behaviour on our tools beyond what is described in this policy.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will reflect any changes. For material changes that affect your rights, we will notify waitlist subscribers by email where reasonably possible.
